Newest creepy regular.

Every restaurant I've worked at has had at least one regular that makes everybody's skin crawl. Ours used to be a brain-damaged bicycle-riding guy who would stay after close, follow employees into the kitchen, talk non-stop about inappropriate things, etc. He stopped coming in after one of my friends quit/was forced out, because everybody else avoided him or interrupted him. And thank god, because he was so fucking loud. I do not miss him.

But, a couple of weeks ago, we got a new guy. And he's actually kinda scary. The very first thing he told Courtney was, "I just got out of jail after ten years." Fabulous. He tried to talk to me, asking why we remodeled. I wasn't very polite and just said, "because corporate told us to." It's not that I'm prejudiced against people who had done jail time -- at that point I hadn't even heard he was a convict yet. He's just creepy. He carries a backpack everywhere, wears a big bulky trench coat has greasy hair and beady eyes that are always staring at all of us who work there, and he eavesdrops on our conversations at the staff table. He just gives off an aura of wrong.

Nobody's asked New Creepy Regular why he was in jail, because we pretty much try not to talk to him. But we all suspect it was some sort of sexual abuse from his general demeanor and creepiness.

Did he use a credit card or do you know his name? If so, look him up....in most states a person's crime is public record and sex charges always are! Whatever it is, he sounds just lovely! ;) I feel for you having to deal with people like this. I wonder what's in that backpack? Nevermind...I don't want to know.

We never had creepy regulars per say, but we had the cutest, friendliest bartender and she had her "crew" of retirees that came in everyday and sat all day drinking at the bar.

It was kind of sad, but they were always respectful and nice to us girls and her. She would have kicked their a**es otherwise.

Come to think of it - I should write a post about her - she was great. I miss her.

Good luck with your creepy regular - and try and do what Bunny said. Better safe then sorry.

We have a few of those. Mostly old perverts. Those are the worst because they make all the female servers so uncomfortable. Me and the GM both have had to talk to them about their behavior. They quit coming as much since "The talk."

Statistically you're more likely to be sexually assaulted by a well dressed normal looking person, they're predators they need to be able to blend in and get close to their targets. He could have been put away for any number of charges so its best to not jump to conclusions just take reasonable care like you would with any stranger you're distrustful of

Used to have this guy come in, always wore bicycle pants & sat in the middle of the bar area with a pint smiling this goofy smile. One night it ended up that everyone who closed was female. As my cocktailer was wiping down tables around him she noticed he had his junk out and was giving it a good tug. She ran over to me and I called our manager out who called the cops. All of a sudden he bolted up and took off. Unfortunately, he left a bit of himself behind on the barstool. We never saw him again, thank GOD!

HAHA! I'm so sorry purple you guys have creepers but surf over to my blog tomorrow, I should have my creeper story posted. Thanks for the inspiration! I'll try and make everyone laugh since you may still be sick and everyone at my pub is falling ill.

Luckily I haven't had a creeper in a while. We have been creepy people free lately at my establishment. I do have to say, though, that people have been pretty cheap lately and it is starting to make me crazy. I can understand that tips during lunch are not going to be stellar, but old people tipping two bucks when I bust my butt for them...instead of me paying social security they can keep their money on the two dollar tips. I would come out ahead.

If he gives you a bad feeling, watch out. You're probably right.

We have our creepy regular who asks all the servers out and brings them polished rocks. He neither asks me out nor brings me rocks cuz he can see the crazy in my eyes.
