After next week's schedule was posted, I decided this shit isn't fun anymore. Four weeks without a single shift is just ridiculous. And they decided to have somebody else do bingo. Fuck it. I emailed my two weeks' notice to all the managers. That was two days ago and not one has responded.
Usually I wouldn't do that sort of thing by email, but I do not trust CL. If I ever need to use the company as a reference, or god forbid go back, I want to have proof I submitted proper notice.
It's a strange feeling, after nearly 12 years of serving. It's been at least a second job for all but small periods of time, a month here or three there - 11 months total, actually. And now ... now it's done. At least for now, guess we'll see if it lasts. I'm hopeful.

Sometimes we have to make decisions that do not feel to be okay at the time but feel okay to be made when the chips are shifting.
I think you are making a good call because in the long run it will be a better step. Plus no more serving and you get paid regardless. I myself am looking for a job in my field since I just finished the BS. We will see how things go.
Good luck Purple Girl and smile. No more hell..lol.
I know it may be feel weird, but it is the best thing you could do - for you. You're too old for her petty bullshit and life is too short for the games. You'll come to appreciate that in time.
As for a reference - anyone who does the hiring in the restaurant biz knows about all the backstabbing/childish workings of management/etc. and as long as you tell the truth you will have no problem finding a job. [if you want one] Goodnes knows a lot of managers have done the "don't schedule, we want them to quit" bullshit.
I am happy for you. Can't wait to see you relax for a bit. Take care sweetie!
Congrats! I'm so happy for you! You can find a second job elsewhere, where you don't want to kill the staff on a regular basis.
Of course, you'll still be cranky, you're serving people after all.
Good luck!
Gratz!
Good for you!
YAY!!! Good for you. I know restaurant work can be hellish, but this job was doing you more harm than good. Hang in there and keep up a positive attitude~ you'll do fine!
