The White Trash Award

I see some pretty uncouth people in my restaurant, and occasionally some outright white trash. The table I had last week sort of put off the trash vibe, although I couldn't describe exactly how. It was a set of parents, their daughter and her husband, and their daughter. The little girl was maybe 18 months old, and she was just adorable! Chubby-cheeked and smiley and curly-haired.

Unfortunately for the little girl, her parents showed their trash when they named her ..... Hennessey.

GTFO. Are you serious? Good grief.

I disagree. Being that Hennessy is a pretty pricey beverage, I don't think that would be a white trash name. I don't think white trash drink cognac. They can't afford it.
White trash names would like Miller, or Bud, or Coors Light or possibly Jack Daniels or Johnnie Walker.

I think she was just saying that naming your kid after alcohol is a little white trashy.

I work with a girl named Brandi and, while it rolls right off the tongue, I can't help but scrunch up my nose when I tell someone that a liquor will be "taking care of them tonight."

Wigsf, those would definitely be much trashier. :) But as FMT said, it's naming her after a liquor ... plus the fact that Hennessey and coke is quite a popular drink with a certain crowd.

NayNay; that's why I though too. I had to listen for them to say it a second time before I believed it!

At least it is a higher end type of liquor!

HAHAHAHA! My daughter's name is Brandy (...your eyes could steal a sailor from the sea.) but I'm the first to admit I'm white trash.

My two favorite names of all time [and I am NOT making them up] are Chandalier and Spontaneous.

Really? A light fixture and a personality quirk? mmmmkay then.

At least your customers order it with regular coke. Mine always wanted diet. At lunch. :)

I went to elementary school with a girl who was nicknamed Sissy. Found out a few years later through seeing school office records that she was referred to as Sissy because her birth name was Tequila. yes, Tequila. no joke
