I went up to a table tonight and before I could even open my mouth, the woman at the table says, "I'll just have water. We're ready to order, are you?" and she looks across at her husband.
Not sure if it's a royal we -- "We are not amused" -- or if she has multiple personalities.

I hate when one person speaks for their whole family. We'd hate to live with women like her.
Yes, we think there's something wrong with them.
It drives me crazy too! But the weird thing was the way she said it, she really stated it like she was one "we" and he wasn't part of it. I giggled. :)
I take it as her meaning, "the waitress is ready for us to order. I'm ready to order.(ergo, We're both ready to order). Are you ready to order?"
