What were you expecting, a blowjob?

I went into work tonight full of hope and the expectation that I might have some good customers and make some money. And one of my earliest tables seemed like a good prospect: two nice-looking guys my age, smiling and polite. One had a beer, another a soda. They both ordered steaks, one with some modifications, the other regular. Their food came out in good time, I checked immediately to see if their steaks were cooked correctly. They were never out of drinks; I dropped their check promptly and took their payment immediately. We didn't talk much, as they were pretty engrossed in their conversation, but it was textbook smooth dining experience. They were in and out in about 30 minutes, during the dinner rush.

When I picked up their credit slip, I saw I'd been gifted a 10% tip and a note that said “service wasn't great, sorry.”

Fuck you.

I love how the people "qualified" to tell you what kind of service you gave have never even worked in the restaurant biz.

I realize that these types of people truly believe themselves to be clever with this passive-aggressive note-writing bullshit, but they aren't. In fact, they look downright stupid for not just telling you whatever the hell they wanted up front, and they look childish for putting the dig in with their pathetic tip later. Like FMT says...don't referee a sport you've never played.

The title cracked me up.
I agree with Rachel about the passive aggressiveness.

I know this will sound mean and childish but I had one of these tables one night. It was a woman with her 3 kids and I don't know if it was her boyfriend or what and his one child. She asked if we gave them anything for a birthday and I said yes but I had to have her id to check the birthday. She goes oh its not MY birthday then its my kids. I was like oh sure, she goes so she doesn't have an id. I told her we had two things they could pick from and that was it and she never told me what the kid wanted and never said another word and I mean another word. Their meal was good and after an hour because its an upscale steak house they were ready to leave. I went up to the table and picked up the check trays, both paid with debit cards she put a nice little 0 on the tip and wrote thanks for the b-day cake, I marked it out, on a side note we don't even have cake. But the best part the dumb bitch left her card. Guess what she never got back. I didn't steal it but I could just barely see it behind the other two card slips so I just walked over to the trash can and dropped everything in because we have cameras and they wouldn't see anything. She called all night long and for like a whole week. And her man waited until she left and gave me $10, I guess he's used to trying to make up for her.

I'd love you to be my waitress! I can see no problem with the service in this case and no reason at all to sit there in silence and then leave a bitchy tip!

Asses.
