Tales of a waitress who escaped the restaurant industry and then discovered a desk job kind of blows - so I put the apron back on. And I deliver pizza because getting paid to drive around listening to music is pretty awesome.

It's that time again.
That time known as "end of the semester". I'm working five days a week, I have a nine page paper to write, a French composition, two shorter writings to turn in, two article reviews to write, four finals to study for, work five days a week, getting ready for a weekend trip to California after finals, and a brief one day excursion to New York next week. Basically, I am about to get my ass handed to me big time. I have plenty of stories to write up, and I'm keeping notes, but I don't know that I'll be able to manage more than one or two a week for the next few weeks. Thanks for sticking around, I'll try to keep up at least maintenance levels of bitching!

School comes first, of course (I'm the mom of a college senior). Hang tough, Cranky. We'll all wait for you because you're worth it.
Hey, I understand the work, finals, social life insanity. Don't worry about keeping too up to date here. I think we all love you enough to get at all bent out of shape. :)
On an unrelated note, would you mind if I emailed you a couple of questions about proper restaurant etiquette? Just a few little things. Thanks!
Ugh, tell me about it. I'm in the same boat you are
(minus the french composition and the CA/NY excursions) and my professors keep screwing around with the dates to hand in these papers and the finals. Hang in there; I hate this time of year!
Thanks for the support, I appreciate it. :)
Pat, you can absolutely write me at slightycranky at hotmail.com -- just keep in mind I've never worked in an upscale place, so I don't know anything about fine dining etiquette. :) Your average fried-food-filled place, though, I know all too well!
You are really doing well with all of it, in my opinion. I've been watching from the sidelines and haven't been commenting as much because I'm doing paintings for a Gallery (instead of sitting on my butt in front of the computer for hours) but I'm still here.
Last night I took my husband to Mel's Diner for dinner and left our server $7 on a $27 tab....thinking SC would approve ;)
End of semester is always hectic. I don't know about you, but for me that's when everyone I work with wants time off and asks me to work! Good luck hun.
Mary, I do approve. :) Glad you're painting, I always envy people with artistic talent!
I get someone trying to get me to pick up a shift almost every day, LW! Of course, I'm also one of those people who wants time off--but I realize that months ahead of time and request the dang days off!
