Self-preservation vs. income.

Apparently, the new vice president of our division is coming to visit our store on Thursday. And Chicken Little is working. I don't know if he'll be there during the day or at night, but either way, she's going to be freaking the fuck out.

So do I try to give up my shift, and avoid her psychotic break, or do I soldier through it because I need money? It's only a first cut shift, so I wouldn't be giving up much, but at the same time I'd only be saving myself a few hours of skull-shattering anxiety.

I say ditch the shift...unless you have a sooper seekrit stash of Valium and Xanax hidden somewhere to help you through it.

Honestly, it doesn't sound like the money would be worth the trouble of dealing with Chicken Little's dumb self.

Take a mental health day and avoid it at all costs. Have to agree with Platypus - doesn't sound like it is worth it.

Might be fun to watch tho' - I am a sucker for a [not real] trainwreck.

Ditch the shift... also, nothing is your fault if you aren't there when the inevitable blame is handed out

Don't do it!
I give up all my shifts when I know the owners are coming to the store. It's not worth the anxiety and snappiness of the managers, and I am NOT cleaning the restaurant on $2.83/hr.

Dump the Shift Sistah...Who needs the grief and besides like JumpIt said...you really want "that side work"?

Managers self destruct when big wigs come in! And its not worth the drama, especially when they want you to do all the extra cleaning and whatnot.

I totally ditched it! Mr. Vomit-worthy can get screamed at. Cali Girl had the same thought, we both bailed!

So, did you get the low down on the visit?

Yeah, thanks for reminding me, I forgot to publish that post.
