It's always like this.

I have horrible days, horrible weeks, where I just want to punch every customer I see. I scrape and scrape to make my money. I get just to the breaking point, just to where I start applying for other jobs .... and then the clouds lighten.

I've gotten a ridiculous number of great tips the last three days. I'm honest to god not doing anything differently than ever. It's quite perplexing. I'm certainly not complaining--it's nice to be making some money, after all! But I'd really rather have steady, even averages than highs that are followed my ridiculous lows.

Of course, this means I haven't had any interesting customers, either. Everybody's been polite and kind. I did get stiffed tonight, but I'm 99.9% sure that was accidental. Overall, I've been quite content.

I have months like that too. Just last month I was preparing to pack my bags and move home to work at a better paying restaurant (the drawback is I would have to live with my parents because the cost of living is so much more). My GM basically copy pastes the schedule each month.. which is good when I get a good shift and awful when I don't.

This month was good for me.. but I spent it all on winter coats, sushi, and rent :(. Now he's switching it up and I get screwed for the four schedules...

I'm glad you're back to making money though!!

I know exactly how you feel. I'm still in one of those low points right now, it sucks having to scrap for every tip you can get. And no one is giving shit. I've been applying for other jobs but I have a feeling I'd have to take a huge pay cut to start all over again.

I'm happy for you that you're doing well! Hope it keeps up!!

It's been a very slow month down here...but the one before that was pretty good, go figure. You just never can tell can you? ;)
